Goals from your Soul: 2019

Goals from your soul.Goals from your soul will make 2019 a breakthrough year!

Standing on the cusp of a new year can feel exciting and overwhelming. There’s a lot of pressure in setting goals that you’ll keep – this time. After all, how many have you abandoned in the past?

But that doesn’t mean that you should stop setting goals! It means that you need to plan according to your unique talents and values. When you do, they’ll align deep in your core. Personal meaning will keep you committed and focused.

When you look back at the year 2018, what happened? Notice the events, interactions, and accomplishments that filled you with energy and a sense of something really meaningful to you.

Notice the things that you didn’t love, too. And how you got through those difficult times. Take stock of every experience – good, bad, happy, sad, and everything in between. These are the things that shape you and grow you when you approach them wholeheartedly.Goals Soul

Wake up your heart. Everything is about to change. Make 2019 a rockin’ new year! Collect the nuggets of wisdom from 2018 to keep your forward momentum moving. What did you do differently, more passionately, more mindfully?

1.Start with stopping. Check in. Give yourself credit where credit is due. Review each month of the year. Too often, you gloss over small victories and ignore their impact on the bigger picture. What deserves recognition that you overlooked?

2. This time next year, what do you want to report? Why is that important to you? What makes that important to you? And, why is THAT important to you? Keep going. Dig deep into what gives you energy and a sense of purpose. Therefore, what qualities exist when you are comfortably present in any moment of time?

soul3. Make it measurable. There needs to be a clear mark of accomplishments at the end. If you want to lose weight, how many pounds by what date? Maybe you want to earn more money.  How many additional dollars per week, month, quarter, etc. will you earn? Perhaps, health or fitness are priorities. How many miles will you run by when? What will your numbers (cholesterol, blood pressure, etc.) be and by when?

4. Break it down. Imagine you’ve already exceeded your goal. Work backwards. What did you do to get there? Notice the small steps and wins along the way that cumulatively resulted in your success. Start there.

5. For every action there’s a reaction. Think about your ripple effect. You don’t live in a vacuum. If everything is interconnected, then you have an impact on the entire world – and beyond. Consider the way you go about your affairs. Thus, what energetic karma are you creating? What do you want to create? How do you want to feel?

So, start 2019 with clarity. Keep a daily journal of your intentions, feelings, activities, and reflections. Certainly, hold yourself accountable. As a result, it will help you stay the course.

If you notice you are straying, gently redirect your thoughts and actions. Above all, treat yourself the way you would treat a good friend. Be supportive, encouraging, and kind to yourself.
